The education system in Maldives will be digitalised next year according to the government of Maldives. Students studying in all schools will be provided with tablets to study in this digitalisation process.

Taking a more modern and technological approach towards education, MVR 154 million was budgeted for the development of education system in the proposed national budget of 2018 as told by Minister of Finance and treasury Mr Ahmed Munawar.

With the introduction of tablets, it is expected to reduce the burden of heavy books taken by the students. It will also make giving and monitoring class works and home works and assessments easier. The use of tablets is also expected to reduce printing of textbooks and lower cost of printing.

Apart from a digitalised education system, special focus on higher education opportunities will also be arranged next year.
