The Minister further stated that a safe and spacious port has been lacking since the pioneering days of the industry. Earlier, the boats were docked at “Gulhi Falhu” which were later relocated to the coast of Hulhumale’ where it did not take long before they were ordered to leave the area.

The Liveaboards Association of Maldives (LAM) has always been dedicated to securing a sustainable port. Hence, with the development of a new port, LAM expects to have solutions for the remonstrances from liveaboards.
