Swell warning issued for northern atolls in the Maldives

Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a swell warning for the northern atolls in Maldives and advised to take precautionary measures for the upcoming 48 hours. 

Met Office stated that due to the current south-west monsoon, central Maldives will face strong winds and there will be torrential rain in the northern atolls. The weather is expected to prevail until December, states Met Office.

Although the weather has been severely rough in different parts of the country, coast guard reports that the number of sea incidents is lower than anticipated. Despite attending to 3 reports, coast guard stated that no person has been injured according to the reports.
