With the inauguration of the Sinamale bridge on 30th August, 5 weddings were held at the platform as part of the week-long celebration of the monument.
In the previous month, the Government had announced its decision to host and cover the expenses of interested parties who wanted to take part in the monumental celebration. The five couples were chosen after evaluation and were provided the state-of-the-art facilities for their day on the bridge.
