There has been a dramatic rise in the number of Australian tourists who visited the Maldives. In regards to the statistics by the Ministry of Tourism, in 2017, Australia brought about a total of 27,360 visitors, while in 2018 the amount rose up a 36.2% to a total of 37,250 tourists.
Due to the upsurge in the number of tourists visiting from Australia to the Maldives, they have even dominated a spot from the top 10 markets in the Maldives. Similarly, Italy, France and Russia too have witnessed growth in the numbers of tourist in comparison with the year 2017.
Even though Australian tourists are rising in numbers, Maldives’ biggest market, China is showing a decline in the number of tourists compared to the year 2017. However, it still remains as the top market of Maldives.
