First ever IMTM comes to a successful conclusion

International Maldives Travel Market (IMTM) concluded it’s first edition on 24th June.

The very first IMTM was inaugurated by Minister of Finance, Ahmed Munawar. The travel fair was held from 23rd to 24th June at Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi, where government officials and partner organisations attended the inauguration ceremony which was held on 24th June.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Managing Director of IMTM Pvt Ltd, Mohamed Farshath stated that the aim of the travel fair was to provided a platform which can gather major industry presence.

The travel fair brought together 33 leading international tour operators and travel agents from 19 countries across the globe, and meetings were held with exhibitors in order to explore new opportunities and partnerships between both parties. IMTM also accommodated over 100 representatives from the local tourism industry, including resorts, hotels, guesthouses, liveaboards and dive centers.

“One of the key aspects of IMTM 2018 is the provision of a semi-formal setting by hosting the exhibition in a pristine tropical resort in the Maldives. Thus, allowing participants to indulge in a true Maldivian holiday experience before, during and after the official exhibition dates,” stated the organizers.

IMTM was endorsed by key industry organizations, including the Ministry of Tourism, Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), Liveaboards Association of Maldives (LAM) along with Association of Travel Agents (ATA) Maldives and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM).

IMTM has received endorsements from key industry stakeholders, including the tourism ministry, Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM), Association of Travel Agents (ATA) Maldives and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM).
