Demand for canned tuna increases and Maldives Industrial Fisheries Corporation Ltd (MIFCO) supplies more than 4,500 cases of canned tuna to the market everyday.
Managing Director of MIFCO, Adlee Ismail stated that the canned tuna cases supplied to the market were being sold completely every day, therefore the company is now supplying 4,500 cases of canned tuna everyday.
“In addition to canned tuna, fresh and frozen fish are also in huge demand these days. We have to bring them in from Kanduoiygiri every day, which gets sold off within moments. We are trying our best to supply fish without any breaks”, Adlee added.
Fresh and frozen fish kilos are being sold at MVR 80, whereas yellowfin tuna is being sold at MVR 100 per kilo.
