Universal Enterprises has donated MVR 300,000 to assist in flood relief efforts

Universal Enterprises Private Limited has provided MVR 300,000 for the families affected due to the heavy rain during yesterday. Over 200mm of heavy rain had affected many homes and shops throughout Male’. 

The aid from Universal Enterprises was accepted by Defense Minister, Honorable Mariya Ahmed Didi and the Project Coordinator of the centre, Ms Hisaan Hassan during a ceremony held at the Maldives National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC).

During the ceremony, the Minister stated that the information of those who are helping are revealed to the media to provide the public with the details of those who helped and the amount of aid provided. The Minister further stated that NDMC will also provide the details of spending the aid received and that the Chairman of Universal Enterprises had also sent a note to show support for the families affected by the heavy rain. 

There are also other companies and organisations which helped during the situation such as STELCO, SIFCO, Dhiraagu, Ooredoo, Alia Construction, Amin Construction, Litus, Customs, along with Police and MNDF worked together to help the families affected by the flooding. Such as STELCO has provided water for the families while Ooredoo has provided the materials that were urgently required for the recovery efforts. In addition, Dhiraagu has donated MVR 200,000 for the families while Litus has offered free servicing for all the motorcycles damaged by the flooding.
