12 Government-Owned Companies Experience Major Board Reshuffle

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has undertaken a major reshuffling of the board of directors of 12 government-owned companies. 

Among the notable changes, Adam Mohamed has been removed as the Managing Director of the Maldives Post Limited, and Ahmed Shafeeg has been appointed to fill the role. Meanwhile, at the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), Fathimath Hana and Ahmed Evan Ismail have been removed from the board, appointing Shamhooza Ahmed as the Chairperson and Abdul Salam Mohamed as a Director.

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Board also witnessed a change, with Ayesha Nurain Janah replacing Abdullah Suood as the Chairperson of the Corporation.

Hajj Corporation bid farewell to Fathimath Leena and Ahmed Asif, welcoming Ahmed Muaz Mansoor and Yousuf Talal Hussain to the board. Similarly, Aasandha Company saw the removal of Mohamed Amir and the appointment of Ahmed Eman and Ahmed Shakeeb as board members.

Changes extended to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) as well, with Aishath Arsha being removed from the board and Mohamed Riaz stepping in as the new member.

Mohamed Fathih was removed from the board of the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), with the appointment of Ibrahim Bassam Saeed and Maha Naseer to the board. 

Moreover, Shiyam Ibrahim has been newly appointed to the board of Post Limited.

In a sweeping change, Aishath Jennifer, who held the position of Managing Director, and board members Abdullah Amir, Azheel Ahmed, Ismail Ali Manik, and Nizar Hassan have all been removed from IASL. Their vacant seats are now occupied by Ahmed Aboobakuru, Mohamed Hassan, and Abdullah Saeed, respectively. 

The Fund Management Corporation has also welcomed a new member, Aishath Shehnaz, to its board.
