47 students have graduated and been awarded certificates by the Four Seasons Maldives Apprenticeship Program at a special ceremony held at National Art Gallery. The graduation certificates were awarded by Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Thoriq Ibrahim.
The Four Seasons Maldives Apprenticeship Program is the Maldives’ longest running and most successful apprenticeship program, having been conducted for the past 16 years and 312 alumnae. The courses conducted include Food & Beverage Preparations, Safe Maritime Transport, Engineering, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Marine Biology, Dive Master and other related courses. in 2010, this program garnered recognition as the country’s first TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) certified Apprenticeship scheme, with a government-accredited curriculum and nationally recognized competency standards and qualifications.
The apprenticeship program selects enthusiastic individuals aged 17-20 from around the Maldives who eager to pave their path in the hospitality industry. Minimum requirements include O-level certifications and fluency in both written and spoken English but no previous work experience is necessary. Successful applicants get to live, breathe and experience Four Seasons island life alongside existing staff members as they train in Resort operations and attend theory classes throughout the course of a year.
