Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA), in collaboration with Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of Islamic Development Bank (IDB) began a 3 day training programme on the theme “Islamic Capital Market”.
The Purpose of this training programme, which is to be held from 25th to 27th June, is to create awareness on Islamic finance amongst Maldivians. The topics of discussion include principles of Islamic finance, Islamic capital market, Islamic banking, regulatory mechanisms of Islamic financial system and structuring Islamic financial products such as sukuk.
The 34 participants of the programme include financial professionals, educators in finance and research students of Islamic finance. The sessions of programme will be facilitated by Dr. Osman Babikr Ahmed of Islamic Research and Training Institute and Dr. Aishath Muneeza of International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance
