MNDF Coast Guard has begun operation ‘Niyama’, in order to check and ensure the safety measures of sea vessels are up to date.
Coinciding with the main school holidays and the year-end, MNDF Coast Guard intends to conduct a full-scale operation checking the safety measures taken by vessel operators for passengers, ensuring that vessels don’t overbook beyond the established capacity limit and if boat captains have valid licenses to operate the vessel.
The operation will be carried out in Male’ and in the MNDF Area Command Centre across the country.
