The Company derives its name from Furahani Ali Manik, the late father of the two brothers, Mohamed Ali Manik and Ahmed Ali Manik, who are the shareholders of the group. FALIM was incorporated in 2001 as it was deemed necessary to consolidate the various activities undertaken by the different companies under a common policy framework and at the same time streamline the various investments of the group. Since its inception more than a decade ago in 1996, FALIM Group is actively involved in delivering a diversified range of products and services to cater to the various segments of the Maldivian population.

Falim and its subsidiary companies provide a wide range of products and services such as Falim: consultancy services; Moodhu: Travel & Tours; ICS: business computerization, consultancy and business management, events management; Maps Maldives: Maps College & Maps High School; Haza: building construction, resort construction and remodeling buildings; AMINA Residency: a twelve-story commercial and residential building constructed by Falim Group as part of its real-estate development projects.
