In 1979, Kaimoo opened their first private investment, Embudu Village, a 3-star resort. In 1992, Kam Hotel, one of the first city hotels in the Maldives, opened in Male’. After acquiring Ziyaaraifushi in 1996, the island was re-branded as Summer Island Village. In 2015, Summer Island Village was reopened as Summer Island Maldives after a complete redevelopment. In 1999, Equator Village, the first city hotel / resort in Addu Atoll was acquired. Kaimoo introduced the Mookai Hotel in 2002 and Mookai Suites in 2008, along with a restaurant K. Cafe’ and Grill, which specializes in authentic Sri Lankan dishes.
