Maldives Airport Company Limited (MACL) has opened Velana International Airport’s new seaplane terminal lounge areas for lease.
The lounge areas in the seaplane terminal at VIA are open for lease to registered tour operators, resorts and seaplane operators. According to MACL, interested companies must register for tender before 10 December 2020, 1300hrs. A bid security of USD 10,000 has to be submitted along with the bid before 30 December 2020.
MACL stated that the new seaplane terminal will begin operations in the first quarter of 2021. They revealed that the nominated parties must set-up and operate the lounge areas in accordance to the guidelines set by MACL.
The new seaplane terminal is being developed to upgrade the services of VIA and will be equipped with retail shops, baggage handling facilities, VIP lounges, lobbies and food and beverage services.
