Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has revealed that the state collected MVR 106 million in revenue through fine payments so far this year.
The latest statistics by MIRA that this figure is a 79.5 percent increase in the collection of fine payments compared to that of the same period last year.
A total of MVR 59 million was collected as fine payments within the first six months of 2020.
The total revenue collected by MIRA within the first six months of this year amounts to MVR 7.49 billion, Additionally, the state budget for 2021 anticipated that a total of MVR 43.8 million will be collected in revenue through fine payments within the course of the year.
