Dhiraagu and Women in Tech Conclude Girls to Code Kulhudhuffushi

Dhiraagu in partnership with Women in Tech has successfully wrapped up the ‘Girls to Code’ program held in Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi. The program ran from 1st September to 16th November 2021.

Girls to Code Kulhudhuffushi program was conducted virtually for a period of two months, and girls aged between 14 to 20 years were given the opportunity to participate and were not required to have prior knowledge or experience of computer programming. This time, the program saw a total of 18 participants.

The Girls to Code program taught participants to develop a website by using HTML, CSS and Javascript. By the end of the program, the participants also had the opportunity to practice what they have learnt by creating a website of their own.

Girls to Code is a joint program held by the telecom giant Dhiraagu, and Women in Tech Maldives for girls aged from 14 to 20 years, to encourage and inspire more women to join the science and technology field. Participation in the program is free of charge.

Women In Tech Maldives is a non-profit organization working to inspire, empower and celebrate women in science and technology. The organization aims to accelerate the growth of women in science and technology by creating opportunities that foster innovation and build the community.
