US Government has donated an additional 99,450 Pfizer-BioNTech doses to the Maldives, bringing the total US donation to 639,990.
These COVID-19 vaccine doses were handed over through USAID to the Ministry of Health at a special ceremony held yesterday.

USAID is also supporting the Maldives to distribute and deliver these vaccines across the atolls, train health workers, and encourage people to get vaccinated safely and effectively. Since the onslaught of the COVID-19, USAID has provided more than USD7 million in COVID-19 assistance, plus an in-kind donation of 60 ventilators, to the Maldives.
