The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Moosa Zameer, will embark on an official visit to Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 3 to 6 June 2024, at the invitation of His Excellency M.U.M. Ali Sabry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
During the visit, Foreign Minister Zameer is scheduled to pay courtesy calls on His Excellency Ranil Wickremesinghe, President of Sri Lanka, and His Excellency Dinesh Gunawardena, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. These high-level meetings are set to further solidify the strong bilateral relations between the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
Minister Zameer will also hold bilateral talks with His Excellency M.U.M. Ali Sabry. These discussions will explore avenues to enhance the longstanding ties between the two nations and will include important topics such as the provision of convenient facilities for Maldivians residing in Sri Lanka.
Accompanying Minister Zameer on this significant visit will be Her Excellency Sheryna Abdul Samad, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Shiruzimath Sameer, Additional Secretary, and Ms. Aishath Fareena, Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This delegation underscores the importance of the visit and the commitment of the Maldives to fostering robust diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka.
