Maldives to Benefit From Ooredoo, NVIDIA Partner ship to Drive AI Revolution in MENA Region

Ooredoo Group has announced a strategic partnership with NVIDIA, marking a significant step towards enhancing its digital infrastructure capabilities across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The partnership was revealed yesterday during TMForum’s DTW24 in Copenhagen.

As an NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP), Ooredoo will leverage NVIDIA’s advanced accelerated computing platform to spearhead the AI revolution in the region, the telecommunications company said in a press release. This collaboration aims to meet the burgeoning demand for accelerated computing and hyperconnectivity solutions throughout Ooredoo’s footprint in Qatar, Algeria, Tunisia, Oman, Kuwait, and the Maldives.

Through this initiative, Ooredoo plans to deploy thousands of NVIDIA Tensor Core GPUs in its AI data centres, enabling governments, enterprises, and startups to access NVIDIA’s latest AI platform.

According to Ooredoo, this platform promises enhanced security, operational efficiencies, and customisation aligned with local standards, fostering the development of local AI ecosystems and applications.

Furthermore, the company reveals that Ooredoo’s GPU-as-a-Service will offer customers on-demand access to advanced AI and machine learning tools, including generative AI technology.

Ronnie Vasishta, Senior Vice President of Telecom at NVIDIA, commented on the partnership: “By providing NVIDIA’s full-stack AI computing platform, Ooredoo will empower customers to deploy generative AI applications and services seamlessly.”
