The Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO) has been recognised for its innovative approaches to pension management at the International Social Security Association (ISSA) Good Practice Award for Asia and the Pacific Competition 2024. The awards highlight MPAO’s commitment to streamlining processes and adopting international best practices in building a sustainable pension system.
The MPAO received a Certificate of Merit with Special Mention for its submission on adaptive strategies, reflecting its proactive approach to addressing challenges in pension management.
Additionally, Certificates of Merit were awarded for submissions on:
- The Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme (MRPS) contribution collection and reconciliation process,
- Death information collection process,
- Employer registration process, and
- Migration of IT infrastructure to the cloud.
An attestation was also granted for the innovative hybrid communication initiative, showcasing efforts to improve stakeholder engagement and communication efficiency.
These achievements demonstrate the MPAO’s dedication to enhancing operational efficiency and aligning with global standards in pension administration. By adopting cutting-edge strategies and optimising its systems, the MPAO continues to lead as an exemplary institution in the region.
