The reclamation project for Funadhoo Airport in Shaviyani Atoll has been completed on 27th March.
The reclamation, which began in January 2018 was done using Maldives Transport Contracting Company’s (MTCC) Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger, “Mahaa Jarraaf”. A sum of 21 hectares of land will be recovered from the west of the island’s northern side for the development of a domestic airport.
In addition to the reclamation project, MTCC is responsible for the construction of the runway of Funadhoo Airport.
The MVR 49million project with MTCC is to be completed within five months from the start of the project.
