A ship from Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) purchased 155.57 tonnes of fish on Monday.
According to the Manager of Felivaru, Mohamed Ibrahim, this marks the largest single-day purchase of fish by a MIFCO ship in the company’s history.
The fish was purchased by Jazeera 102, which is MIFCO’s latest acquisition during President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s administration, in GDh. Thinadhoo.
MIFCO recently broke another company record, in December 2021. During the month, the company bought the highest quantity of fish from fishermen in a single month in its entire history. It was also the month the company paid the most to their fishermen.
