Attorney General has sent a bill to the President’s Office regarding determining a term for the Commissioner General of Taxation and Deputy Commissioner of Taxation on 24th July 2019.
In addition, the bill also composed of a plea to change the governance framework of the MIRA Board.
Another important change proposed is regarding amending procedures with regard to the right for taxpayers to appeal for decisions made by Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).
The AG Office further stated that the bill contains pleas regarding amending the procedures to be followed when publishing rulings regarding taxation.
