Audit on Expenditure by President’s Office Reveals No Financial Irregularities

A report has been released by the Auditor General’s Office revealing that spending by the President’s Office in 2019 was conducted in accordance with the Public Finance Regulation.

The audit report on expenditure by the President’s Office in 2019 was released by the Auditor General’s Office on Monday. The report states that the spending complied with the purposes of the budget allocation passed by the Parliament for the office, and that the budget objectives were satisfactorily fulfilled.

The President’s Office was allocated a total budget of MVR 121 million for 2019. During the year, MVR 110 million was spent on salaries and allowances, MVR 26.5 million on travel expenses, and MVR 5.3 million on office equipment.
