Bank of Maldives (BML) has forged a partnership with the Maldives Blood Service to establish a series of blood donation camps. In response to the pressing need for blood transfusions, particularly for Thalassemia patients, BML made a commitment in 2021 to conduct quarterly blood donation camps exclusively for its staff.
The recent blood donation camp saw the active participation of 46 BML staff members who generously volunteered to donate blood. In a commendable display of solidarity, the first half of this year witnessed over 60 staff members, as well as their family members, stepping forward to contribute to these life-saving efforts.
Beyond the immediate impact of providing essential blood supplies, the bank has a broader mission. It seeks to foster awareness among its staff regarding pertinent social issues and to instigate their involvement in activities that benefit the community. This proactive approach aligns with BML’s dedication to corporate social responsibility and community engagement.
