CA Maldives’ First Council Elections Slated for July 10th

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives) has announced its inaugural council elections, which are scheduled for the 10th of next month.

CA Maldives reveals that positions including President, Vice-President, and four general members of the Council are open for applications. Eligible candidates must fulfil the criteria outlined in the Chartered Accountants Act, which stipulates being a Fellow member of the Institute and a citizen of the Maldives.

The application submission deadline is June 8th 2024, at 15:00.

CA Maldives anticipates that the upcoming council elections will further solidify its mission to foster the development of the accountancy profession in the Maldives, elevating it as a transparent and accountable industry.

Council Structure

Established on September 8th 2020, under the Chartered Accountants Act of the Republic of Maldives, CA Maldives operates with a nine-member council.

Notably, the Auditor General, the Commissioner General of Taxation, and the Accountant General serve as ex-officio members of the Council, adding governmental representation to the Institute’s governance structure.

Invitation to the 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM 2023)

In parallel with its preparations for the council elections, CA Maldives invites all members to register for the 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM 2023).

Members are encouraged to register via the CA Maldives portal by June 6th, 2024, at 15:00 hrs.

The AGM will be conducted digitally via Zoom on June 11th, 2024, from 15:00 to 16:00 hrs.
