Women in Tech Maldives and National Democratic Institute will organize a cyber safety awareness and media literacy workshop for civil societies from November 24, 2022, to November 26, 2022, at Blue Lagoon in The Equator Village of Addu City Gan.
The 03-day workshop will be the 2nd as part of the Women in Tech Maldives Cyber Safe series. From October 21 to 22, the first cyber security workshop was held for civil society organizations operating in Male’ city.
The non-governmental organizations operating in the country are working hard to benefit society in various ways. In today’s day and age, every civil society has to do its bit in a digital environment, irrespective of the area itself. One of the challenges that most people face while working online is getting the technical information needed to work in a safe digital environment and how to behave in the event of a cyber attack.
According to Women in Tech and The National Democratic Institute, the workshop aims to help and educate civil societies to overcome such challenges. The program aims to support civil society in understanding what they need to preserve and protect their vital data and promote cyber safety.
The workshop will also create awareness among civil societies on various media literacy issues. You will be taught the tools and tricks to verify the authenticity of the information received through the media and to obtain accurate information.
