Dhiraagu has pledged to contribute towards supporting Care Society’s Vocational Training Unit (VTU) Program for children with disabilities at a virtual event held yesterday.

This year, the program will focus on training students with basic computer skills. There are currently 6 students with Downs Syndrome and other disabilities who have enrolled in the program. Since the establishment of the Vocational Training Unit in 2018, Dhiraagu has continued to support the VTU Program by the Care Society. These programs have taught various skills such as, sewing, craft and design for children with different disabilities. Today marks World Down Syndrome Day and it is a day to reflect on the fact that people with Down Syndrome and other disabilities experience many challenges and setbacks, but they also experience love, care and hope just like all of us. It is important to ensure that they are not left behind and they too get the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to social and economic development.
