Dhiraagu has launched the Dhiraagu Gamers Guild (DGG), an innovative new platform set to transform the Maldivian esports landscape. The platform, tailored to meet the needs of the local gaming community, offers a range of features and services designed to foster a vibrant and inclusive environment for gamers.
The launch event, held at Dhiraagu Head Office, was inaugurated by the Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdulla Rafiu. The event saw the attendance of ministry officials, senior members of Dhiraagu, gaming community representatives, and various stakeholders.
Dhiraagu CEO and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “We are thrilled to introduce the Dhiraagu Gamers Guild, a home-grown platform that will serve as a central hub for all esports activities by Dhiraagu. We aim to engage more youth in esports, cultivating a new generation of gamers and elevating their experience.”
Minister Abdulla Rafiu commended Dhiraagu’s efforts, saying, “I applaud Dhiraagu for their continuous innovation in the gaming community. This platform will revolutionise the experience of gamers across the nation, transforming how we think about sports, competition, and skill development. With Dhiraagu’s support, I hope to see Maldivian esports athletes excel on the global stage.”
One of the key features of the Dhiraagu Gamers Guild is its streamlined registration process for various esports tournaments organised by Dhiraagu. This process ensures that gamers do not miss out on opportunities to participate and showcase their skills. Additionally, the platform offers exclusive fibre broadband boosters and mobile add-ons for registered members to enhance their gaming experience.
The launch event also marked the beginning of a two-day walk-in gaming tournament, where participants can register via DGG and compete in games such as Rocket League and EAFC 24. Players must win three consecutive matches to be crowned the ‘King of the Hill’ and win a cash prize.
