Dhiraagu has unveiled the company’s 2025 calendar, ‘Minivankan Mathee Abadhah’, on National Unity Day.
The new year’s calendar was unveiled by Mohamed Mauroof Jameel, the Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC), together with Ahmed Nasif, the Chairman of HDC’s Board of Directors, during the meeting held with HDC to discuss ongoing collaboration between HDC and Dhiraagu to improve the service given to the inhabitants of Hulhumale’.
The 2025 calendar – Minivankan Mathee Abadhah, which translates to ‘Forever Independent’ – was designed to commemorate 60 years of Maldivian independence, celebrating the spirit of unity, which binds the Maldives. Each month of the calendar features a different national symbol which showcases the unique culture and traditions of the Maldives. Dhiraagu will also be releasing a monthly educational video, with more information about each month’s symbol – a useful tool to learn more about Maldivian history and heritage.
“As we move toward celebrating the Maldives’ 60th anniversary of Independence, we are proud to unveil Dhiraagu’s 2025 calendar – illustrating our nation’s independence, highlighting the symbols that have defined our country’s journey, depicting our rich culture, resilience, and unity, that shaped the Maldives into the strong, vibrant nation that we are today,” stated Ismail Rasheed, CEO & MD of Dhiraagu.
He further stated that it was a great honour to present the 2025 Dhiraagu calendar to the newly appointed Managing Director of HDC, Mauroof Jameel, and Chairman of the HDC Board, Ahmed Nasif.
During the meeting, Ismail Rasheed also remarked on the significance of the day, as the nation marks the 20th anniversary of the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and recalled that Mauroof Jameel was the Chairman of Dhiraagu’s Board of Directors during the time. He further reminisced on the massive role played by Dhiraagu’s dedicated team, following the tsunami, to restore parts of the network that were damaged and to quickly re-establish communication service to the islands, which helped speed up the relief efforts across the country by the Government and various organisations.
