H.E. Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), met with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu in Dubai during the World Governments Summit 2024. Discussions focused on the strong bilateral relationship between the Maldives and the UAE, and ADFD’s significant contributions to Maldivian development projects.
The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) is an autonomous aid agency founded by the Abu Dhabi government. The Fund provides concessionary loans and manages direct grants to support developing countries in achieving sustainable socio-economic growth.
President Muizzu expressed gratitude for the ADFD’s ongoing support of the Maldives. Director General Al Suwaidi reiterated the Fund’s commitment to assisting the Maldives in its development initiatives.
The two leaders reviewed the progress of current ADFD-funded projects and explored further collaboration opportunities. Specific areas of focus included tourism, agriculture, health, and economic development.
