Economic Ministry Collaborates with Maldives Police Service to Conduct Security Officer Training

A Security Officers Initial Training (SOIT) programme will be conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement under the Maldives Police Service in the coming month.

The aim of the programme is to open up opportunities for those who wish to pursue security, and to increase the participation of Maldivians in the sector. The training programme also aims to train Maldivian employees in the industry and eliminate the difficulties faced in providing opportunities for them.

As the security sector is one of the fastest growing, and there are numerous opportunities in the Maldives for security as a profession, the government aims to train Maldivian workers in the sector and bring them to the job market. In this regard, those who complete the programme will have the opportunity to move forward in this area.

Under the programme, 30 security officers will be trained in the first phase. The programme will be funded by the government for a period of 14 days.

Applications for the program are now open through the Job Centre Portal (https://jobcenter.mv). Applications will be open until October 13, 2022.
