Orchid Holdings Pte Ltd, established on the 30th of July 1987, is a co- owned company of Mr. Mohamed Waheed Deen, Muraka Pvt Ltd, Mr. Collin Syn, Ms. Aminath Shezni Waheed Deen, and Orchid Voyages Pvt Ltd. The company was formed for the purpose of operating Bandos Island Resort and Spa; the second tourist resort opened in Maldives, located in North Male’ Atoll, 7km from the capital Male’. Since the acquisition of Bandos Island Resort and Spa in the year 1987, Orchid Holdings Pte. Ltd. has made the resort one of the most reputed and leading resorts in the Maldives. In 2015, Bandos Island Resort and Spa was re-branded as Bandos Maldives, with 215 guest rooms and all modern facilities to cater to the need of customers. At present, there are 549 employees in the company, out of which 387 employees are locals and only 162 employees are foreigners.
