The government has decided to extend the student loan repayment period to 6 months to help students in the economic downfall caused by the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Addressing the nation, President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that they have extended the repayment of student loans for 6 months to aid the students in this crisis.
The government has also introduced an economic recovery package of MVR 2.5 billion to help the businesses and have previously decided to extend the loan repayment period to 6 months for businesses as well.
