Ministry of Finance has decided to establish an internal audit system in government offices to verify the financial transaction.
This decision was taken as a part of its efforts to check whether the ministry aims to identify risks in offices and ensure the public goods and documents are kept in accordance with chapter 16 of the Public Finance Act.
The ministry is currently working on establishing audit committees in five institutes and the ministry is aiming to establish audit firms in government offices within the first three months of this year.
All the work required to set up this internal audit system will be done by the internal department of the ministry of finance. The internal audit department will be directly reporting to the ministry of finance and the government’s internal audit committee.
