As part of broader efforts to enhance agricultural development, the government is working on initiatives designed to empower young farmers. These plans aim to provide the necessary support and resources to help them adopt modern agricultural techniques and improve productivity. Officials believe that increasing youth engagement will introduce innovation and technological advancements, making farming more efficient and sustainable.

During her tour, Minister Mariya inspected agricultural sites on several uninhabited islands, including Hulhehdhoo, Kaashihulhudhoo, and Havodigalaa. The visits allowed for direct engagement with farmers and local councils to better understand challenges in the sector and explore potential solutions.

The ministry stated that these inspections are part of an ongoing effort to ensure that agricultural policies align with the realities faced by farmers. The government remains focused on strengthening food security while creating more opportunities for young people in the sector, reinforcing the role of agriculture as a key contributor to the nation’s economy.
