His Excellency President Solih has inaugurated the official slogan for the Guesthouse symposium to begin on the 29th of December 2018 in a ceremony held in the president’s office which reads “Towards sustainable tourism”.
The symposium will be held in Dharubaaruge and is a platform to recognize the difficulties guesthouses face and discuss ways to resolve them and expand the business, including marketing and promoting guesthouses, preserving the cultural heritage in the Maldives and adapting the guesthouses operators to the laws of running guesthouses.
The ministry of tourism welcomes all the guesthouses in the Maldives to take part in the symposium. The ministry stated that their goal is to promote Maldives as a destination where all types of tourism is offered.
