Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation’s Managing Director Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed has stated that Guesthouses should make maximum use of the opportunities provided by MMPRC.
MMPRC recently announced that the tourism industry witnessed a rise of 19% in tourist arrivals during the first six months of the year. With this increase in the number of tourists, Mr. Thoyyib highlighted that the market is at large for local tourism.
MMPRC has been trying to encourage and promote local tourism through networking trips and the first-ever guesthouse seminars which were held in 11 atolls earlier this year. The seminars focused on teaching marketing strategies to local guesthouses and educating them on utilizing social media to market their services. The aim of this workshop was to help guesthouses to make decisions to formulate marketing campaigns through social media and other means with informative approaches to marketing. These guesthouse seminars were conducted by MMPRC in association with Guesthouse Association of Maldives and Orca Media Group.
MMPRC has participated in 15 tourism fairs held in 12 different countries this year. The marketing & PR agency has conducted 5 roadshows in 13 countries, 11 familiarization trips for foreign media personnel including the UK, South Korea, India and China. The corporation has also conducted 12 joint promotion ventures, 12 global advertising events and 12 endorsement events.
