It has been stated by the general manager of Happy Market, Ali Ihsaan, that they are all set to increase the production of life water. Currently, the demand for water is rising, and it is believed that this plan will be completed within the next six months.
According to Ihsaan, compared to before, they are targeting to achieve this by increasing the production capacity through ways of increasing machinery and by bringing changes to logistics. Changes will be made to the supplying unit in Himmafushi and the delivery system in Male’ as well.
Happy Market has decided to take this step due to the current water crisis; demand for water is increasing day by day. As mentioned by Ihsaan, this crisis is believed to be due to the damages caused to water plants in companies producing water as a result of the hot sunny climate in the Maldives.
Captain Ali Ihusan- General Manager of Happy Market
“The shortage in our production was caused due to the breakage of one of our suction pump in the water production machine. Besides, these kinds of pumps are difficult to get as it is made upon request only and takes up to 3 months to get. We are waiting for it for almost 2 and half months” stated Ihsaan. Hence, this much shortage in water rose due to some problems in the production of Taza Water, and as a result the demand for Life rose massively.
Ihsaan mentioned that it is expected that the crisis will be solved within the next two weeks hopefully. However, the challenge is that the demand for water has increased by 35% compared to earlier; for instance, 5 liter bottle which had demand for about 20,000 bottles earlier has now increased to 25,000 to 30,000 bottles per day.
