Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maldives Sports Corporation (SportsCo) today.
The aim of the MoU is to develop and utilize HDC’s land for sports-related infrastructure, and to work together to establish infrastructure for this purpose. Furthermore, the research carried out by HDC and SportsCo is to be shared with each other, in order to create more opportunities and programs for sports in the Maldives.
The MoU, which has a set length of 3 years from the date of signing, was signed today by the Managing Director of SportsCo Mauroof Ahmed and the Managing Director of HDC Suhail Ahmed.
According to SportsCo, the signing of the MoU will pave the way for even greater progress in the sports industry of the Maldives. Furthermore, it would help resolve the issue of lack of space in sports facilities, and ensure the availability of more modern sports equipment. SportsCo has also stated that it will help provide training and technical programs for athletes in the country.
