IASL Ensures Uninterrupted International Travel Amid Airbus Repairs

Ibrahim Iyas, Managing Director of Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), the parent company of Maldivian Aero, announced that international travel would continue without interruption as the company resolves technical issues with its Airbus aircraft. The repairs, which are currently underway, will not affect scheduled flights to international destinations.

Iyas assured passengers that flights to Trivandrum and Cochin in India would proceed as planned despite the Airbus aircraft being temporarily out of service. He emphasised that the highest priority is being given to those who have already purchased tickets, and measures have been taken to ensure their travel plans remain unaffected.

To adhere to the travel schedule, flights have been arranged using the Maldivian ATR aircraft, although Iyas noted that there may be slight adjustments to flight timings. He also mentioned that Maldivian had employed additional aircraft from other airlines to transport some passengers to Malé City yesterday, supplementing its own fleet.

Furthermore, travellers with tickets to fly from Trivandrum to Malé are scheduled to travel today via the Indian airline, IndiGo. This arrangement underscores Island Aviation’s commitment to maintaining service continuity and minimising inconvenience to passengers during the repair period.

In a post on the social platform X yesterday, Maldivian announced that a flight from Malé to Trivandrum had to return to Malé due to engine troubles. The incident highlights the technical challenges currently being addressed but also demonstrates the company’s proactive approach to ensuring passenger safety and service reliability.

Island Aviation’s prompt response and effective contingency measures reflect its dedication to maintaining uninterrupted international travel services. Passengers can remain confident in their travel plans as the company continues to navigate and resolve these technical issues.
