Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) has inaugurated the International Conference on Intellectual Advancement (ICIA) with over 300 participants.
The theme for this year’s conference is building learning communities through the exchange of knowledge. The chief guests of the ceremony of ICIA 2019 were Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali and Minister of Environment Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor of IUM Dr. Ibrahim Zakariyya Moosa highlighted the conference is held at a time when some administrative changes are made and plans are in place to take IUM to another level.
Chair of the ICIA Dr. Dheeba Moosa stated that such conferences are eye-openers and open opportunity for new researches.
The two-day conference will be looking into the submission of 50 research papers and 5 posters which is comprised of 35 papers prepared by experts from South Asian institutions and 15 papers from local scholars. According to IUM, the topics of the papers include Psychology, Mental Health, Curriculum, Islamic Civilization, Finance, Qur’anic Science, Shair’ah and Law, Politics and Diplomacy, Digitalization, Language, and Literature.
ICIA is an international conference held annually that provides the opportunity to bring together professors, researchers, and higher education students of different disciplines. The conference will provide a platform to discuss new issues. And to discover the most recent research in all fields, including Education, Social Sciences and Humanities in a Multicultural Atmosphere.
