Maldives Immigration has decided to give email access for passport application services. In a press conference held on the 17th of January 2019, Immigration’s Controller Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Hussein, mentioned that the highest number of complaints made by citizens are regarding the difficulties in making their passports.
Once the email system is established, It is said that all four outlets of immigration can proceed in handling the passports. Passport collections outlets are established in the capital city of Male’, Fuvahmulah city, Addu City as well as HDh. Kulhudhuhfushi.
Mr. Hanafee also mentioned that they are working on launching these online services before the end of 2019.
