LUX* North Male Atoll set to open in early 2018

Mauritius based hotel operator, LUX* Resorts & Hotels is set to open their 2nd property in the Maldives, the LUX* North Male Atoll in early 2018.

Located on the six-hectare picnic island of Olhahali, the resort is only 45 minutes by speedboat from Male’ International Airport. LUX* North Male Atoll will feature private pool villas designed using glass and wood. Instead of traditionally thatched villas, this intimate resort will consist of over-sized penthouse residences. The contemporary one-, two- and three-bedroom residences are scattered across the island, far from each other to ensure guest privacy.

Tastefully styled by Singapore design group Miaja, the resort will be a visual feast of nautical forms and tones designed in a scheme that blends super-yacht flamboyance with a lively South Beach pulse. Each of the 67 residences is built to have a minimum living area of 350m2 and are positioned either on the beach or over water.

Each penthouse is completed with a fully-featured 120m2 reef terrace, a magnificent private deck above the giant house lagoon. Guests will be able to appreciate the beauty of surrounding with a unique perspective. The contemporary one-, two- and three-bedroom residences will be scattered across the island, far from each other to ensure guest privacy.

LUX* North Male Atoll will also boast Big Green Egg BBQs, a rooftop bar, cinema and SONOS, a yoga plinth, starlight jacuzzi and outdoor games help to create the ultimate experience for people who love the high life.

There will be two restaurants on site, the Beach Rouge and a Café LUX*. Additionally, a bar and an exclusive private dining room featuring wall to wall aquarium, a spa and kids club will complete the package.

The resort will even feature an in-house marine center with biologists on hand to allow guests to explore the beautiful marine life of Male’ Atoll. Additionally, it will also be home to a small fleet of luxury yachts that will be used to cruise the guest’s around the area.
