Philip Blackwell, the scion of bookseller family, needs a Man Friday for possibly the world’s most remote bookshop, based in the luxury eco-resort of Soneva Fushi in the Maldives.
Billed as ”the original desert island hideaway in the Maldives,” Soneva Fushi can be found on the pristine beaches of the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Should you get this job, you would get to live near the resort, where guests pay $2,000 a night for a one-bedroom property and $26,000 for the nine-bedroom Private Reserve.
They will write an “an entertaining and lively blog that captures the exhausting life of a desert island bookseller,” as well as entertaining children with storytelling sessions and hosting creative writing workshops.
It’s a minimum three-month contract, and you’ll be living on the resort’s island (making for a seriously easy commute!).
Soneva Fushi is within the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and boasts a number of five-star villas located steps from a white sand beach which is a 30-minute seaplane journey from Male International Airport.
Blackwell, a descendant of Benjamin Henry Blackwell, founder of Blackwells, currently runs the Ultimate Library company, which creates library collections for resort hotels like Six Senses and JW Marriott as well as private residences
