M7 has announced that they will be discontinuing the use of single-use plastic within the company.
The ceremony held in M7 office, on 30th June 2019, was officiated by the Chairperson of the Environment and Climate Change Committee, Mr. Ahmed Saleem.
Mr. Saleem stated that single-use plastic has become an unmanageable problem and that we need to work on it in every level.
He added that single-use plastics could be a large potential threat to the Maldives fisheries and tourism industry.
Managing Director of M7, Mr. Mohamed Abdul Sattar affirmed that they implemented this ban under the nationwide single-use plastic ban by the government.
He also mentioned that they had moved over to environment friendly ink materials in M7 approximately 5 years earlier.
