The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) and the Ministry of Social and Family Development have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a special internship programme to provide opportunities for people with disabilities.
The MoU was signed at a ceremony held at the MACL head office yesterday. Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Lam’aan represented MACL, and Minister of State Ahmed Athif represented the Ministry of Social and Family Development. Officials from both organisations attended the event.
Lam’aan emphasised MACL’s commitment to offering the best possible experience to the interns, stating, “We are dedicated to supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities through this programme.”
State Minister Athif highlighted the initiative’s significance, remarking, “People with disabilities are talented individuals who deserve meaningful inclusion in society. The President has given special attention to this cause, and this programme reflects our commitment to equality and empowerment.”
The one-year agreement is designed to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities and promote a culture of equality in society; five individuals will gain work experience at MACL under the internship.
