HDh. Makunudhoo Island Council has announced the opportunity to lease 32 land plots for a variety of commercial and agricultural purposes. Following amendments to the initial announcement, the registration period for interested bidders is now open until the 31st of this month.
Bids will be submitted and officially opened on the second day of next month at 11:00 am, taking place at the Makunudhoo Council Office.
The available plots are designated for 11 distinct business types:
- Tourism: Guest Houses, Water Sports and Dive Centers, Rental Cottages
- Industrial: Industrial Work, Boat Yards
- Commercial: Cafes, Restaurants, Shops, City Hotel, Accommodation Blocks
- Agricultural: Cultivation, Poultry Farm, Sea Cucumber Farming
Lease terms range from 10 to 30 years, with rent reviews scheduled every five years (excluding agricultural land). All plots require a two-month rent deposit, and 50% of the total rent is due during a specified grace period.
