Talks have begun to improve relations between Maldives and Thailand relating to aviation at a meeting held between Thai Minister of Transport Mr. Arkhom Termpittayapaisith and Mr. Moosa Zameer, Maldivian Minister of Tourism.
The Thai Minister reportedly requested for help with expanding Thailand’s seaplane operations due to Maldives having extensive knowledge and experience in the field. Discussions were also carried out to improve the aviation relationship between the two countries with new agreements and negotiations and more flights.
Maldives is home to the largest seaplane fleet in the world, with Trans Maldivian Airways operating a fleet of 45 seaplanes.
